Lamorinda is an affluent area in the East Bay San Francisco area made up of three small towns; Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda. Altogether the population is less than 60,000.
The Berkeley Hills help protect it from the cold sea weather but its proximity also allows the area to miss most of the heat giving the Lamorinda area a goldilocks climate. The beautiful hills surround the area providing ample hiking, making the area feel rural although its only 17 miles from San Francisco with all its high tech jobs and culture.
Highway 24 and the BART make the commute a breeze.
The small town feel is safe and family friendly. Orinda was voted the second friendliest town in the USA.
